In Kiribati, PSDI is supporting reforms to improve the business and consumer environment and expand private sector opportunities.
PSDI is working with the Government of Kiribati to:

Modernize company and business laws;

Draft legislation for the development of an online business registry;

Strengthen the operations and financial sustainability of the Kiribati Provident Fund including development of a comprehensive policy framework;

Undertake analysis in preparation for the establishment of a Commerce Commission; and
-
Support the improved performance of state-owned enterprises through analysis and review.
Resources and Spending
Of the $285,144 PSDI has spent in Kiribati in total, $116,055 was deployed in the 2018/2019 financial year (FY). This expenditure has mainly funded the development of three news bills— the Companies Bill, the Companies Insolvency Bill, and the Business Names Bill.
